Privacy policy
Last updated 10/07/2026
We keep as little as we can. Cases use first names only, case pages can only be reached with their link, free cases are deleted after 30 days, and we do not sell or share personal data for advertising.
Who is responsible
Aioanei A. Adrian Persoană Fizică Autorizată, Romania (tax ID RO45431550), is the controller responsible for the personal data described here. Write to materialefacultateac@gmail.com about anything on this page.
What we store and why
Cases: the first names or nicknames entered, the statement of claim after we remove surnames, phone numbers, emails, addresses and workplace names, the category, the language and the court's ruling. We need these to run the case and show the ruling.
Hearings: statements from both sides and witness testimony, each checked and cleaned the same way, and the name a witness chose to give, if any. They are shown to everyone with the case link.
Summons: if the person filing gives the other side's email address, we store it encrypted, use it only to send the summons and the note that the court has ruled, and delete it with the case. If that person asks us to stop, we keep only a scrambled record of the address so we never write to it again.
Accounts: your email address, your username, your password stored only as a one-way hash, and your credit balance. If you sign in with Google, we also receive Google's identifier for your account.
A session cookie: a random identifier that connects your cases, statements and purchases to your browser. It is essential for the service and contains nothing about you.
A keyed hash of your IP address, to limit free cases, codes and abuse. We never store your raw IP address.
The country your IP address belongs to, looked up on our own server in a local database (IP Geolocation by DB-IP, dbip.com), to show prices in dollars or euros and to count visits by country. The address itself is not sent anywhere or stored.
Payment details are handled by Stripe. We receive the result of the payment, the amount, the tax, your country and, for US tax, your ZIP code and state. We never see your full card number.
First-party usage events, such as a page view or a case being shared, to understand whether the product works. Before you have a session, they are counted under a daily key made from your hashed network address and your browser. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
The computer judge
Rulings are written by a language model provided by Anthropic. It receives the first names, the cleaned statement of claim, the hearing statements and testimony, and the category and language of the case. It never receives email addresses, passwords, payment details or IP addresses.
Anthropic processes this data only to write the ruling for us, under its commercial terms, and does not use it to train its models.
How long we keep it
Free cases, their hearings and their summons address: 30 days, then deleted.
Statements the court declines: 7 days, then deleted.
Cases with a full judgment: until you delete them, the account is deleted or a takedown is accepted.
Accounts: until you delete them. Sign-ups that are never confirmed are deleted after one day.
Order records: as long as tax law requires, with your name, email and case link removed if you delete your account.
Who processes it for us
Hosting and storage providers, Stripe for payments, our email provider for codes, summons and receipts, Google if you choose to sign in with it, and Anthropic for the computer judge. Each processes data only to provide its service to us. Some are in the United States; transfers from the EU rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
We do not sell or share your data
We don't sell or share personal data for advertising. We do not use it for targeted ads and we do not let anyone else do so.
Your rights under GDPR
If you are in the EU or the UK, you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy in a portable format. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
Our legal bases are the contract with you (running cases, accounts and payments), legitimate interest (sending a summons the person filing asked for, preventing abuse with hashed IPs, first-party usage events), and legal obligation (tax records).
Your rights under US state privacy laws
If you live in California, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share it, so there is nothing to opt out of. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
Residents of other states with privacy laws, such as Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah and Texas, have similar rights, and we honor them the same way.
You can use these rights from the privacy choices page, or through an authorized agent who can show your permission.
If you are named in a case
You can remove a case about you at any time with "This is about me, remove it" on the case page, stop all email to your address with the link in any summons, and ask us to delete anything about you through the privacy choices or contact page.
Children
Spat Court is for people 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe a child has used the service, tell us and we will delete the data.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, summons addresses are encrypted at rest, passwords are stored only as hashes, sessions are kept on our servers rather than in your browser, and the admin console is limited to named staff accounts.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update this page and its date.
