Do you have to call your mom every Sunday?

Not guilty

The short answer

No, but you do have to call back. Missing a Sunday is forgivable; disappearing for a month is not.

The ruling

From the public record. Names are replaced with roles.

Charge

Sentence

Just for fun. Written by a computer judge. Not a real court, not legal advice, no legal effect.

How the court usually rules on this

The court does not set a calling schedule for families. It looks at whether the person stays reachable and returns calls within a reasonable time. A next-day callback is enough for an acquittal. A silence of weeks, especially after a direct question, is treated more seriously.
