Case no.PC-2026-05084
The host v. The guest
Filed 10/07/2026
- Plaintiff
- The host
- Defendant
- The guest
Statement of claim
He dipped the same carrot stick into the hummus four times. When I said something he said it was the other end of the carrot.
Charge
Fourfold dipping of a single bitten carrot into communal hummus
Judgment
Guilty
Guest found guilty of the four-dip carrot
Sentence
The defendant brings fresh hummus to the next gathering and serves himself on a plate.
How the court usually rules on this
The court treats a shared dip as common property and the rule as simple: one dip per bite. Breaking a chip in half first or spooning dip onto your own plate are both accepted defenses. Claiming it was a different end of the carrot is not.
